We have many times reported some inside info on how the Intervision Song Contest organizers are considering a push for 2027. What was never on the table was a change on the host country. Today further info posted on Tass.ru verified our sources.
The next Intervision Song Contest will be hosted by Saudi Arabia, organizers confirmed to TASS on August 5, directly addressing prior reports that questioned whether the event would take place.
While exact dates, venues, and participant lists remain under discussion, preparations are actively underway.
Earlier, a source in Riyadh informed TASS that the 2026 contest in Saudi Arabia was not guaranteed. The source noted that key organizational details (including the event schedule, participant lineup, and overall program) remained uncertain, and mentioned that Russian organizers had not yet "clearly passed the baton" to Saudi hosts.
Additionally, public details or formal announcements regarding dates and participants have yet to be released by Saudi authorities. In May, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov expressed hope that escalating tensions in the Middle East would not impede plans for the contest’s second edition.
In response to these concerns, the Art Traditions Foundation (Традиции искусства), along with host organization representatives, issued a statement confirming the contest’s location:
"As announced at the finale of Intervision in Moscow, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will be the host country and organizer of the next edition. The Art Traditions Foundation and representatives of the host organizer are continuing their preparation efforts, discussing timing, venue, and other operational matters."
