Russian Media Buzz over Possible Representatives for Intervision 2026

As the musical world looks forward to the next installment of the Intervision Song Contest, anticipation is building over who will represent Russia on the international stage. Following the inaugural festival held in Russia in 2025, the 2026 edition is set to take place in Saudi Arabia.

While an official participant has yet to be named, prominent blogger and public figure Vadim Manukyan shared his top picks in an exclusive interview with Absatz. The story has gone viral reposted in many Russian media outlets. According to Manukyan, three artists stand out as the most suitable candidates based on their skill, popularity, and reputation.

1. Alexander Panayotov

Topping the list is Alexander Panayotov. Manukyan emphasizes that Panayotov has "earned" this opportunity through years of high-level performance. Having famously finished as a runner-up in multiple national selections for Eurovision, Intervision 2026 could be the definitive stage for him to showcase his exceptional vocal range and professional showmanship.

2. Tatiana Bulanova

In a surprising but popular choice, Tatiana Bulanova is named as the second top contender. Manukyan notes that Bulanova is currently experiencing a "second wave" of popularity. Her sincerity and the deep affection the Russian public holds for her make her a strong candidate for an international contest that values emotional connection.

3. Vanya Dmitrienko

Representing the younger generation, Vanya Dmitrienko rounds out the top three. Known for his youthful energy and genuine persona, Dmitrienko would bring a modern flair to the competition, appealing to a broader, younger demographic across the participating nations.

Russia was previously represented by SHAMAN. As of now, Russia, Belarus, Brazil, and Saudi Arabia are officially confirmed for the 2026 lineup, with more countries expected to join.
