The Intervision Song Contest places specific, detailed demands on the song, its lyrical content, and the performers, and the stage production. For a participating country to successfully compete, the entry must meet all of the following requirements as defined in the official 2025 Regulations.
The song itself must follow strict creative, length, and publication criteria.
Requirements
- The duration of the song must be no less than 2 minutes and no more than 3 minutes.
- The song must be popular in the Participating Country as of the date of the Contest Final.
- The inclusion of Ethnic and folk elements/samples reflecting the country’s culture is encouraged.
- The song may be performed in any language in the world.
- It must have been released no later than the year preceding the Final. Adaptations of previously published songs are permitted, provided the adapted Song was released no later than one year before the year of the Final.
- The themes and ideas within the song's lyrics must strictly align with the Contest's values

- Uniqueness of Countries
- Progress of countries
- Support of Talents
Prohibitions
- Songs that call for violence.
- Songs that humiliate the honour and dignity of society.
- Political themes in the lyrics must be completely excluded.
The participating country must prove it has full control and ownership of the song before the performance can be approved and must sign agreements with the composers and lyricists, transferring the exclusive rights of the contest song to the participating country. These rights must be sufficient to be legally transferred (or assigned) to the Organizer for the purpose of the Contest and its promotion.
