Kyrgyzstan at Intervision 2025: The Nomad Trio Takes Silver with "Jalgız Saga"

Kyrgyzstan achieved one of the most significant triumphs of Intervision 2025 with the Nomad Trio (Azat Raimberdiev, Bek Israilov, and Minzhasar Murzaev). Their performance not only secured an impressive second-place finish but also showcased the richness of Central Asian musical traditions through a powerful, contemporary fusion.

The Road to Intervision: Masters of the Stage Unite

The selection of the Nomad Trio was the result of a rigorous televised national selection featuring 14 performers, managed by the Kyrgyz national broadcaster, KTRK. The trio, a supergroup of three established masters of the stage, was chosen by a professional jury. The members are laureates of numerous international festivals. Crucially, Azat Raimberdiev won First Place at the Slavic Bazaar contest in Vitebsk in 2018, establishing their collective international profile. The group chose the name "Nomad" to directly link their music to the country's nomadic culture, symbolizing a deep connection to their heritage and roots.

The Contest Performance and Theme

The Nomad Trio performed the compelling song "Jalgız Saga" (Жалгыз Сага), which translates to "Only for You." The performance was a captivating blend of national pride and emotional depth. According to The Nomad Trio, the contest song "Jalgız Saga" is a lyrical track in the Kyrgyz language, deliberately fusing traditional Kyrgyz motifs and modern arrangements. The theme is dedicated to eternal family values and the necessity of understanding one's roots—"all those threads that connect each of us to our home, our grandparents, our mom and dad. To everything we call our small homeland." Their emotional delivery, enhanced by powerful staging, resonated profoundly with the international jury.

Contest Result and Life After Intervision

The Nomad Trio's commanding score secured the silver medal for Kyrgyzstan, confirming the global appeal of their authentic yet contemporary sound. Following their silver medal win at Intervision 2025, the group was greeted with a warm reception at Manas International Airport in Bishkek, personally welcomed by the Minister of Culture, Information, Sports, and Youth Policy, Mirbek Mambetaliev. The achievement was celebrated as a national triumph, with the Minister emphasizing that Kyrgyz music gained recognition on the international stage.
